California Republican nominee Steve Hilton says he can win despite polls showing him trailing his opponent, Xavier Becerra. Hilton called the contest an uphill battle, accused Becerra of barely campaigning and said he was not claiming victory was certain.
Hilton said polls from established organizations still showed a large gap, while other surveys showed a smaller one since campaigning began after the primary. He said he believed the margin might be in the single digits.
