Heather Matarazzo says she needs more SAG-AFTRA-covered work to maintain her health coverage, echoing performer Jack Haven’s appeal. She did not disclose how much she needs; eligibility depends on current covered earnings or qualifying work days, not career credits.
For benefit periods using the 2026 threshold, the plan requires $28,090 in covered earnings; that rises to $28,933 in 2027. Members can also qualify with 108 Eligibility Days during their Base Earnings Period. Either route provides 12 months of earned coverage; only qualifying SAG-AFTRA wages with required employer contributions count.
Haven said they needed another $4,000 in qualifying earnings by the end of September for coverage beginning in January 2027, then reported receiving numerous offers. Matarazzo celebrated the update but has not said whether her own post led to new work. If a member falls short, earned coverage ends when the current benefit period expires; the plan provides information on options including COBRA and, for eligible participants, Extended Career COBRA.
