Justin Gaethje says Arman Tsarukyan would be his next opponent if he defends the UFC lightweight title, which he won by stopping Ilia Topuria. Gaethje calls Topuria undersized for the division and says he has not decided whether to fight again while recovering from injuries.
Speaking on the FLAGRANT podcast, Gaethje dismissed Topuria’s accusation that he loaded his gloves. Topuria spent most of his career at featherweight, winning the UFC title and defending it once before moving up to lightweight and knocking out Charles Oliveira for the vacant belt. He is now seeking an immediate rematch.
Gaethje, 37, said he had fought 40 times, including amateur bouts, since his first fight in 2008. He said he has nothing left to prove, wants to protect his health and keep his faculties, and will make a business and personal decision about continuing later.
