Nick Taylor and Corey Conners beat Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns, while Ryan Fox and Min Woo Lee rallied to defeat Wyndham Clark and Collin Morikawa 1 up. Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim routed Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay; Sungjae Im and Hideki Matsuyama won 3&2.
The only previous time the Internationals held a lead this large was 1998, the sole Presidents Cup the U.S. lost in its 15 previous tries. Through two rounds, 10 of the event’s top 13 golfers by strokes gained were International players. Scheffler and Burns, who have won once in six Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup tries as a pair, are set to play together again Saturday in four-ball.
