A Facebook video claiming Vice President JD Vance was “confirmed as” something in Ohio is AI-generated, and he made no such announcement, Lead Stories found. Hive Moderation rated the clip 77.4% likely to be AI-generated; linked blogs did not answer the claim.
The Terry William account posted the caption on Sept. 22, 2026, then shared the same reel five more times, despite labeling it as news from “30 minutes ago.” Another account, Loun Loun, had posted the video at least nine times. The linked blog posts were near-identical; one vaguely discussed an April 25 incident at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner but did not explain the claim.
A Google Lens search found copies of the video but no similar images from an official White House briefing showing Vance, President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio together in that context.
