Analysts backing Wisconsin cited the Badgers’ improvement after an opening loss to No. 3 Notre Dame and running back Abu Sama’s expected return after he missed the previous game with an injury. They also pointed to Penn State receiver Koby Howard, listed as questionable but expected to miss an extended period; he leads the Nittany Lions in receiving by a wide margin.
FanDuel had Wisconsin as a 9.5-point underdog, down from 11.5 at opening. DraftKings figures showed 97% of bettors backing Penn State to win outright and 71% to cover a 10-point spread; 65% of bets were on the over of 43.5 points.
