Erika, shown returning with a baby and takeout in a viral Giants broadcast clip, says husband Ramses had recently lost a close friend and she suggested the game to honor him. She urged critics to remember the couple’s children may someday see posts insulting Ramses.
During the Giants’ game against the Minnesota Twins at Oracle Park, broadcasters Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow jokingly narrated Erika’s return to her seat with the baby and food containers, quipping that Ramses was not helping with the baby and was focused on his meal. The clip drew millions of views, and many commenters urged Erika to divorce him.
In her Substack post, Erika said she had already eaten before the game, so only Ramses got a meal, and she took the baby to the bathroom partly to keep them both warm. She said the clip did not show the times he had cared for her, and that although she knew the broadcasters meant no harm, their words hurt. She said excited texts from family and friends were soon followed by an overwhelming number of angry DMs and online comments.
