Maryland field hockey improved to 8-0 for the first time since 2018 and rose to No. 2 nationally, its highest ranking since September 2022. The Terps beat then-No. 4 Wake Forest 1-0 Sunday on Maci Bradford’s goal, marking the 12th 8-0 start in program history.
Maryland hosts Rutgers on Friday at 4 p.m.; the game is scheduled to air on the Big Ten Network.
Elsewhere, Maryland’s football availability report listed six of its eight rostered running backs as inactives for Saturday’s Big Ten opener against UCLA. Tight end Preston Howard and running backs Harry Dalton and DeJuan Williams were also among the inactives. Women’s lacrosse announced its fall schedule, four-star attacker Cole Sovie committed to men’s lacrosse, and CBK Report ranked Baba Oladotun No. 13 among the nation’s impact freshmen.
