Ahead of Sunday's Week 3 matchup, Arrowhead Pride's Maurice Easton says Patrick Mahomes looked more settled and trusted his repaired ACL more in Week 2, but is not fully back. The 2-0 Chiefs visit the 0-2 Dolphins, who are still seeking their first win.
Easton said Eric Bieniemy's return as offensive coordinator brings more accountability and discipline than Matt Nagy's approach. Andy Reid remains the play caller, so Easton does not expect a major schematic change, though he said Bieniemy is more willing to lean on the running game.
For Miami, Easton recommended using De'Von Achane on outside-zone and stretch runs and creating receiving matchups against linebackers. He said the Dolphins' best defensive chance would be simpler man coverage and pressure on Mahomes with four rushers. He praised Nohl Williams, who has taken on a larger role while Mansoor Delane is injured, and said Chris Jones' quieter start likely reflects a calf injury, not a serious decline.
