A fire broke out around noon Wednesday at a multi-story building at 40 President Street near Passaic Avenue in East Newark. Firefighters from Newark, Harrison and Kearny joined East Newark crews in battling the blaze.
Drone video shot from Newark showed flames and smoke rising from the building. The fire was about a block from Tops Diner; East Newark authorities could not immediately be reached for further information.
