Elon Musk said on X on Sept. 24 that Earth’s economy is less than one-trillionth the size of a Type II civilization’s economy. On the Kardashev scale, a Type II civilization can harness the energy of its star.
Musk made the comment while quoting an X post by Andrew Chen comparing U.S. investment over the years in AI, telecommunications, railroads, highways and other areas with GDP. Musk provided no further details.
