Remedy released “Control Resonant” Thursday on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Jesse Faden is missing, and her brother Dylan leads the sequel as he searches for her in a reality-warped Manhattan, wielding a shape-shifting melee weapon.
Creative director Mikael Kasurinen called the change a “reverse symmetry”: Jesse searched for Dylan in the first game, while Dylan now looks for Jesse. Kasurinen said both siblings remain central, and Dylan’s story also explores his search for connection and belonging.
The team says players can use gravity anomalies to attach Dylan to surfaces and navigate varied environments, while battles pit them against combinations of enemy types. Actor Sean Durrie said new character Zoe helps newcomers follow the lore by asking questions they may have.
