Luka Doncic appeared to joke with Lakers teammates at a minicamp he hosted in Slovenia this summer, saying, “You better pass to me because I run this [expletive] country.” A social-media post sharing the clip was dated Sept. 25.
Teammate Kevon Looney said the minicamp let players see Doncic’s personality off the court and described him as a leader. Doncic reportedly paid for their flights and expenses; Lakers GM Rob Pelinka said players gave him handwritten thank-you notes for the time and resources he devoted to the event.
