Lightning struck the edge of Interstate 84 near Weber Canyon at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, just feet from a moving truck, National Weather Service data showed. Motorist Tucker Ralphs captured the strike on dashcam during a thunderstorm.
Ralphs was driving home when he recorded the scene. He told Storyful the strike was “louder than you can imagine,” with a sharp crack and boom, and said it was bright before disappearing in an instant.
