Sam Darnold and Kyler Murray are cleared for NFL Week 3, while Caleb Williams is expected to sit and Jayden Daniels is ruled out. Jaxson Dart is out for the regular season, though coach John Harbaugh has not ruled out a playoff return if the Giants qualify.
Williams missed a second straight practice Friday with what is believed to be a low-grade hamstring strain; coach Ben Johnson had called him week-to-week. Dan Quinn described Daniels’ dislocated elbow as week-to-week. Washington has no plan to put him on injured reserve, and a return within four weeks remains possible; Ian Rapoport said Week 4 is unlikely, though Daniels has not been ruled out.
Darnold had a limited practice Wednesday, then two full practices Thursday and Friday while recovering from a glute injury. Murray missed Week 2 after suffering a concussion in Week 1 but has since cleared the concussion protocol. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported Dart will have surgery on his left knee to repair his meniscus and MCL.
