Dallas receiver George Pickens posted a 50 Cent meme that Cowboys beat writer Clarence Hill said could carry a subliminal message about his role. Pickens has nine catches for 68 yards through two games, after recording 93 receptions and 1,429 yards last season.
Pickens is playing on a one-year, $27.3 million contract after Dallas placed the franchise tag on him this offseason; his long-term future remains unresolved. Owner Jerry Jones said he believes Pickens will be among the league’s top reception leaders once the season’s results are in.
Dallas faces the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3, Pickens’ next opportunity to change the conversation.
