Author Colleen Hoover says she remains proud of the 2024 adaptation of her novel “It Ends with Us,” telling Variety she saw the completed film before learning of the dispute between stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. She said she feels for everyone involved.
Lively filed a sexual-harassment complaint against Baldoni in December 2024, alleging misconduct on set and a retaliatory smear campaign. He denied the allegations and filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and others; the lawsuit was later dismissed. Lively’s case had been narrowed to a limited number of retaliation-related claims when a settlement was announced May 4.
A judge partially granted Lively’s request for more than $8 million in attorneys’ fees and litigation costs, ordering Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios to pay just over $400,000.
