The Daily Mail reports Chelsea consider Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott a top target, but a January move may be difficult: Bournemouth ruled out a summer deal and may stand by that stance, while the 23-year-old remains an important player under contract.
According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth sold Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City last January through his £65 million release clause. The report says a mid-season deal for Scott could carry a premium because Bournemouth would weigh the sporting impact as well as the financial return.
Chelsea's wider midfield search also includes Monaco's Lamine Camara, whose proposed £47 million move collapsed on deadline day. Chelsea still admire him, and Liverpool are reportedly interested.
