Chargers’ injuries put five matchups in focus at Buffalo in Week 3

SB Nation

The 0-2 Chargers visit the 2-0 Bills in Week 3, with six Los Angeles players unavailable this weekend. A preview flags Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkey, the depleted interior line, Del’Shawn Phillips and Tarheeb Still as key players or matchups.

Herbert has completed 59% of his passes through two games, with two touchdowns, three interceptions and six sacks. McConkey leads Los Angeles with eight catches for 117 yards and a score; the preview says he could be difficult for Buffalo to contain if the Chargers find a favorable matchup.

Tyler Biadasz is on injured reserve, and Trey Pipkins III and Kayode Awosika are out; the article says injuries could weaken protection for Herbert and running lanes for Omarion Hampton. Chargers linebacker Del’Shawn Phillips, a former Bill, has 13 tackles and started both games. The preview expects corner Tarheeb Still to see plenty of Khalil Shakir if Derwin James covers tight end Dalton Kincaid; Shakir has seven catches for 88 yards.
