Portland teammate Toumani Camara says Damian Lillard’s first step and speed stood out in offseason workouts after surgery on Lillard’s left Achilles in May 2025. Camara praised his defense; Lillard is expected to enter training camp without restrictions.
Camara made his assessment after full-court, full-speed three-on-three games at Lillard’s Portland home. He ranked Lillard among the five toughest players he had defended and noted the nine-time All-Star’s willingness to defend and box out.
Portland coach Micah Nori also said Lillard looked “phenomenal” and praised his shooting. The Trail Blazers still need to determine how their crowded backcourt will fit together.
