Burry calls five stocks full positions while adding to four short bets

TheStreet

Michael Burry said he bought more of QXO, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Sprouts Farmers Market, Birkenstock and MercadoLibre, which he called full positions. All were 29%–65% below 52-week highs; he added to short bets on Micron, Nebius, Palantir and the iShares Semiconductor ETF.

Analysts polled by S&P Global rated all five stocks Buy or Strong Buy, and Stock Analysis targets implied 26%–137% upside. Even so, QXO and Sprouts each fell nearly 4% the next day.

Burry's initial Micron short was slightly underwater: shares were about 2% above his shorting level, Stocktwits reported. Micron made up 7.9% of SOXX, which Burry also shorted. Acer CEO Jason Chen said memory was tight only in the most advanced DDR5 chips and accused suppliers of hyping shortage fears to protect margins, DigiTimes reported. Burry called the Nasdaq 100 historically top-heavy; while it closed at a record 30,732 on Sept. 22, the share of its members above their 200-day moving average fell from 77% to 56% since mid-August, BTIG's Jonathan Krinsky noted.
