The Yankees will face the Red Sox in a best-of-three playoff series beginning Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium; Boston’s 2-0 win over the Cubs Friday made the matchup official. New York also changed pitchers for its Orioles doubleheader, and Trent Grisham remained out.

For Game 1 against Baltimore, the Yankees recalled starter Brendan Beck and reliever Yerry de los Santos from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Beck allowed seven runs in five innings in a 10-2 loss and was optioned afterward; pitcher Alexander Cornielle was called up. The Yankees had opened two roster spots Thursday by optioning Luis Gil and Bradley Hanner.

Grisham, sidelined since June 13 with a right hamstring strain, and rehabbing designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton hit live batting practice Friday against left-handers Ryan Weathers and High-A prospect Pico Kohn. Weathers’ session was moved up from the following week so he could be an option for the Wild Card Series roster.
