Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen will miss the playoffs after injuring his shoulder while warming up in the bullpen Saturday, beat writer Bill Plunkett reported. Manager Dave Roberts said Treinen’s season was over, but the injury’s severity was not yet known.
Treinen returned to the Dodgers’ bullpen in early September after an elbow injury. During his rehab assignment with Single-A and Triple-A, he pitched 6⅓ scoreless innings and struck out eight, CBS Sports reported.
Plunkett said Treinen would undergo imaging. His absence could give a Dodgers reliever on the edge of the playoff roster an opportunity.
