The Yankees and Orioles will play a Friday doubleheader after expected inclement weather Saturday prompted a schedule change. Brendan Beck faces Trevor Rogers in the 4:05 p.m. ET opener, which will include CC Sabathia’s rescheduled number-retirement ceremony.
Beck was called up with Yerry De los Santos after Luis Gil and Bradley Hanner were sent down. Beck has made three MLB appearances, with an 8.22 ERA in 7.2 innings; Rogers has a 4.07 ERA in 165.2 innings this season and could be making his final Orioles start before becoming a free agent at season’s end. New York is using a left-handed lineup, with Ali Sánchez catching before Austin Wells takes over for Game 2.
