AutoZone’s fiscal 2026 sales rose 7.4% to $20.3 billion and fourth-quarter earnings per share climbed 15.1% to $56.05, but U.S. same-store sales increased just 1.6% in the year’s final 16 weeks, versus 3.3% for the full year.
Domestic commercial sales to repair shops, dealers and other professional clients rose 8.6% in the fourth quarter to $1.91 billion; year-to-date sales in that business increased 10.6% to $5.76 billion. AutoZone said commercial programs were available at 94% of its U.S. stores at fiscal year-end.
AutoZone cited S&P Global Mobility data putting the average age of U.S. light vehicles at 12.8 years. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported vehicle maintenance and repair prices were up 5.2% year over year in August. AutoZone’s figures do not show that higher labor costs are driving more do-it-yourself repairs.
