Astros can clinch AL West with win or Rangers loss in finale

SB Nation

Houston closes its regular season against the Athletics on Sunday with the AL West at stake: a win or a Rangers loss to the Twins would clinch the division. The Astros and Rangers enter tied, with Houston holding the season-series tiebreaker, 9-4.

The finale is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. CT at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. Houston right-hander Peter Lambert (8-10, 3.87 ERA) is set to face Athletics right-hander Seth Johnson (1-0, 6.19 ERA).

Houston beat the Athletics 13-2 on Saturday. Jeremy Peña went 4-for-6 with two home runs, four runs scored and four RBIs. The Astros are 6-6 against Oakland this season.
