Apple’s new Watch features can provide a transcript of the previous 15 seconds and a broad daily recap, while Meta’s camera-equipped glasses can record people who may not know it. A Yahoo Finance report says the devices raise questions about consent and bystanders’ privacy.
Dan Howley said Live Rewind does not attribute remarks to speakers, while Siri Recap gives a broad, bulleted summary of the day. He said neither feature provides a full transcript or audio recording, and Apple does not have access to the data.
Howley also cited tech journalist Joanna Stern’s discovery of people on Facebook Marketplace offering to disable the glasses’ LED indicator, allowing wearers to record others without their knowledge.
