Apple plans an iOS 27 Health app redesign with Apple Intelligence guidance and a daily 0–10 readiness score combining activity, sleep and vital signs, the Wall Street Journal reported. The report also links it to upgraded sensors in Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4.
Planned additions include long-term health analysis, at-home physical assessments, lab testing through Quest Diagnostics and a Health Age feature. The new experience is set to launch first in U.S. English, with more languages later; some major features require a Series 12 or Ultra 4.
The overhaul comes amid competition from screenless trackers such as Oura and Whoop. Oura reported revenue up 74% to $1.21 billion and earnings of $60.8 million for the nine months through June. Apple also scaled back its planned AI health coach, code-named Mulberry, after management judged the original concept could not compete strongly with Oura and Whoop; some features are now planned for the Health app.
