Antonio Brown's lawyer says a Florida plea deal reduces his attempted second-degree murder charge to aggravated assault, with three years' probation that could end after 18 months. Prosecutors have not confirmed the deal; a hearing is set for Sept. 30.
Brown's lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, said the deal includes a withholding of adjudication, meaning Brown would not be considered a convicted felon. He said the main probation condition is staying away from the alleged victim, with no community service, anger management, psychological evaluation, drug treatment or other evaluations, apology letter or fines. A conviction on the original first-degree felony charge—attempted second-degree murder with a firearm—would have carried 20 to 30 years in prison.
The case stems from a May 2025 altercation outside a Miami celebrity kickboxing event. A warrant said social-media video showed Brown advancing toward the alleged victim with a gun and captured two shots while Brown was within several feet of the man. U.S. Marshals arrested Brown in Dubai in November; he pleaded not guilty and in December sought dismissal under Florida's Stand Your Ground law. The alleged victim said through his attorney earlier this month that he did not wish to participate in the prosecution. Brown's lawyer says he continues to maintain that he acted lawfully.
