Andrew Bailey says he is leaving FBI co-deputy role for family in Missouri

ABC News

Andrew Bailey says he is resigning as FBI co-deputy director and leaving the bureau to return to his family in Missouri. He thanked President Donald Trump, Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel for the opportunity; Patel praised his service.

The co-deputy director arrangement was the first in FBI history. Bailey served alongside Dan Bongino, then Christopher Raia after Bongino resigned. The article says it remains unclear whether Raia will now be the bureau’s sole No. 2.

Before joining the FBI last year, Bailey was Missouri attorney general. He helped lead election-integrity investigations, including appearing with then-Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard at a raid on the Fulton County, Georgia, election office, where ballots and other documents related to the 2020 election were taken.
