Critics of Anthropic's Dario Amodei are circulating a negative brief to the White House before his Sunday dinner with President Trump. It portrays him as a Trump critic with deep Democratic ties; a source says it's meant for Trump and likely to reach him.
The brief is not an internal White House document, and its origin is unclear. It cites Anthropic’s earlier-this-year falling-out with the Pentagon as evidence that Amodei did not trust Trump. In an imitation of Trump’s posting style, it says Amodei claimed AI would eliminate half of entry-level white-collar jobs as soon as this year and labels that claim “WRONG!”
Relations between Anthropic and the Trump administration have been tense for a year. Trump is focused on winning the AI race, while Anthropic is one of the few companies at the technology's frontier; the company is valued at hundreds of billions of dollars and plans to go public soon. Anthropic did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
