Tech and AI CEOs head to Washington after reports of AI mishaps and unauthorized access, but sweeping rules are unlikely to dominate talks under an administration favoring rapid growth. Trump is set to meet frontier-lab CEOs and House Speaker Mike Johnson Tuesday.
The Tuesday meeting is planned for the White House, with Meta among those invited. Also Tuesday, an event called “America’s Golden Age” will feature Trump, other tech and AI executives, and Cabinet members as they unveil a new government website.
Semafor confirmed that Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei dined with Trump at the White House the previous night; Axios first reported the dinner. The Pentagon continues to deem Anthropic a “security risk,” while the administration has criticized Amodei’s ties to the “effective altruism” community.
