After Jaxson Dart injured his knee, Ian Rapoport reported the quarterback is likely to undergo season-ending surgery. Retired Derek Carr dismissed speculation he could join the New York Giants, joking online that he was busy finding a level 40 crew to join.
ESPN reported that medical imaging showed damage to Dart’s MCL, PCL and meniscus after he was hit by several Los Angeles Rams defenders during the Giants’ 28–6 loss.
Carr announced his retirement in May 2025 after scans found a labral tear and significant degenerative changes in the rotator cuff of his throwing shoulder. He chose to retire rather than have surgery after 11 years in the NFL. The article says New York will rely on Jameis Winston for now.
