A 2035 scenario values Tesla’s Optimus business at about $3 trillion

Motley Fool

Elon Musk said in 2024 that Tesla’s Optimus robot could help push its market cap to $25 trillion. Motley Fool’s scenario puts the robotics division at about $3 trillion by 2035 if it captures 10% of the market and retains Tesla’s current 13-times price-to-sales multiple.

JPMorgan Chase believes sales for the robotics industry could rise from $100 billion in 2025 to $2.5 trillion by 2035. The article notes that Tesla’s valuation multiple may change and calls a 10% market share an impressive target.

The article compares Musk’s $25 trillion forecast with the S&P 500’s roughly $70 trillion value at current prices, saying Tesla would represent 36% of the index at that valuation. It says Optimus could add value over the long term but that it is hard to see the division lifting Tesla to $25 trillion anytime soon; the opportunity could stretch over decades.
